Twitter Seeks A Senior Project Manager In Crypto

This week, Twitter just announced a new job listing: Senior Project Manager, Crypto. The role is designed to assure Twitter will be leading the way in terms of social media coupling with crypto. The new hire will specifically serve as a domain expert on all things crypto for the company. Also, the new position will focus on integrating NFTs, NFT Tooling, and DAOs.

“Our initial focus is on Creators and especially creator monetization. In this capacity, we’ll be looking closely at NFTs and NFT tooling, membership tokens, DAOs, and more!”

Twitter Crypto Lead, Tess Rinearson, announced the position to her followers on Twitter.

Rinearson comes from the world of interoperability of blockchains. She previously worked for the company Tendermint, which successfully launched the Cosmos network.

The position requires a pretty hefty resume. Applicants are required to have over four years experience in product management and over two years experience in managing crypto protocol development or on-chain applications. The successful hire will also have experience in “dApps, blockchain interoperability protocols, blockchain scaling protocols, P2P systems, byzantine fault-tolerant distributed systems, or web3 primitives (like NFTs and DAOs)”.

Twitter’s Immersion Into The NFT Space After Jack Dorsey Leaves

The announcement of this hire comes after avowed Bitcoin Maximalist Jack Dorsey left as the CEO of Twitter. Maybe Dorsey has been holding Twitter’s progression into web 3.0 up for a while now, and although it seems like he left, it’s possible Twitter wanted him gone. In the few weeks after Dorsey’s departure, Twitter rolled out their NFT Verification and is hiring a high-profile position for a crypto specialist. Doesn’t seem like a coincidence.

The NFT profile picture verification system was long-awaited for Twitter, and it seems like it rolled out perfectly. Although only available for Twitter Blue accounts, there have been no reports of the NFT verification system problems. This is a big deal because now people really know if you own your treasured NFT. For example, Eminem changed his profile picture to his BAYC, and with the current verification system, he could prove that he owns it.

The new integration of Twitter into the NFT space has been developing for a while. They actually announced their NFT profile verification system last September. And now, with Jack Dorsey gone, it seems like Twitter’s dive into the Web 3.0 space has just begun.
