What Are Degen Toonz?

In February we wrote about the emergence of these wild Toonz and they happen to be up to their wild ways again. After a slow mint, these Toonz skyrocketed up the various NFT charts within Web3, earlier this year. When you logged into Twitter, it was Toonz galore and it quickly became apparent a strong community was in the process of being built.

For a quick refresher, Degen Toonz are a collection of 8888 toontastic NFTs built on the Ethereum blockchain. Over the past months, they’ve held a choppy floor price between .4 and .7, respectfully.

That all changed recently with the help of some mysterious Tweets, which has all their holders excited and looking forward to 5/31. At the time of publishing this article and after a bullish spike touching a 2.2 ETH floor, the current floor sits at 1.6 ETH. For most Toon holders, this has been expected and warranted, as the Degen Team has been constantly building. When you mix with the community, which is one of the most inviting, loyal communities you will encounter, you get these results. Within the NFT Corner, we know the Community is the heartbeat of any project and Degen Toonz has been building a strong foundation, since day 1.

We know something is coming on 5/31, but what? The Team has been dropping clues on their Twitter throughout month, be sure to give them a follow here. From the tweets they have provided, we know that there will be dynamite and toxic ooze involved. Each Toon holder is going to be given the opportunity to claim one of these FREE NFTs, giving it a very MAYC type vibe. We know that Degen Toonz has a fair amount of BAYC holders and we will have its own burger collaboration at the official Bored and Hungry restaurant, which is the 1st of its kind.

Along with being able to claim a FREE NFT, “the claimable NFT can be stacked by being burned to create a higher tier NFT”, via their official Tweet. There will only be a select amount of tiers that can be created and they will be providing more details on this in the near future. The best part, this claimable function WILL NOT BURN your Toon, it is simply a utility claim for being a holder, with a fun mysterious twist.

The claimable NFT can only be claimed by being a Degen Toon holder, which minted out in February. If you are looking to shop for Toonz, you can find their official OpenSea page here. We are still two weeks out from the big day of surprises, there is no telling what may happen with these Toonz!

Lastly, they recently passed 10K ETH in trading volume on OpenSea, another indication things may just be heating up.
