Shake Shack Adds Bitcoin To Its Menu
You may soon be able to get Bitcoin for clogging up your arteries! In a bid to attract a “younger” clientele, “Slow Food” chain Shake Shack is developing Bitcoin rewards.

According to a report, U.S.-based burger joint Shake Shack will be making Bitcoin rewards possible for its customers. To do that, the burger chain is partnering with digital payment service Cash App.

- Users will receive a whopping 15% of their purchase back in Bitcoin. In order to be eligible for the rewards users will have to use the Cash Card, which Cash App’s debit card.
- An average order at Shake Shack is about 11 dollars USD (burger, fries, drink). Meaning, the average order will net you about 1.65 in Bitcoin. Not bad.
- Cash App is a digital wallet owned by Block Inc., the Jack Dorsey-led Bitcoin-centric company. Block Inc. is also developing a Bitcoin DEX.
- According to the report, unnamed Executives at Shake Shack said the rewards program is aimed at targeting younger customers. They are looking into testing if the feature will help them reach a millennials and gen z — which happen to be the biggest part of Block Inc’s business.
- Though, the fast food chain did say that they haven’t seen a demand from customers asking to use cryptocurrencies to pay, which is why they are testing a rewards program instead.
