Melania Trump tweeted today honoring the genesis block of Bitcoin. “It is widely reported that Bitcoin’s market cap exceeds USD$1 Trillion.  Today marks the 13th anniversary of the Bitcoin Genesis Block.  Happy Anniversary, #satoshinakamoto…” the former first lady said.

• Melania Trump is married to Joe Biden’s predecessor Donald Trump. The former President doesn’t share his wife’s fondness for the cryptocurrency, or cryptocurrency in general.
• “Well, I never loved it because I like to have the dollar. I think the currency should be the dollar so I was never a big fan. But it’s spilling up bigger and bigger, and nobody is doing anything about it,” Donald Trump said back in December.
• This isn’t Melania’s first dalliance with crypto. Last month, Mrs. Trump announced a line of NFTs through Solana and MoonPay. Both Solana and MoonPay denounced the NFT project.
• One of Solana’s biggest supporters, Sam Bankman-Fried, donated the second most out of any one to Joe Biden’s campaign. 
• According to Melania, “it’s widely reported” that Bitcoin is over 1 trillion. However, it is under 1 trillion currently, sitting around 875 billion at press time. Also, by reported she probably meant anyone can check for themselves what Bitcoin’s market cap is. No need for sources or scoops.
• Bitcoin stan Jack Dorsey also tweeted out about the genesis block.
