What is Maverick Protocol?

Maverick Protocol is a Dynamic Distribution Automated Market Maker (AMM) designed to improve capital efficiency and liquidity provision in decentralized finance (DeFi). What is Boosted Position in Maverick Protocol?

In Maverick Protocol, a Boosted Position is a specialized type of liquidity position that offers users more control and flexibility in providing liquidity and attracting additional liquidity from other users. When a user creates a Boosted Position, they deposit liquidity into the Maverick smart contract and other users have the ability to add liquidity to that specific Boosted Position, effectively buying a share in it.

One key feature of Boosted Positions is the ability to incentivize them with additional token rewards. These rewards serve as incentives or “bribes” to attract more liquidity from other users into the Boosted Position. The additional tokens provided as rewards are distributed among the LPs who have added liquidity to that specific Boosted Position.

Boosted Positions are particularly useful for projects or tokens that need liquidity in specific asset pairs. For example, a new token project (let’s say XYZ) may want to bootstrap liquidity for their token but only needs the quote asset (e.g., ETH) to be added to the pool. They can create a Boosted Position consisting of only ETH in the XYZ/ETH pool and provide incentives to attract liquidity providers who add ETH to the pool.

Final Thoughts: Should you buy MAV in 2023?

MAV is a new token, and thus, there would be a lot of volatility.

MAV token could go up by 2 to 3x in a very short time. Buying now and holding for a long time may not be a good idea. If I were to buy MAV token today, I would make sure I sell 50% at 30-40% gain, keeping short trade profit in mind. Also, I would not put more than 0.05% of my portfolio in MAV token.

For long term, I would not buy today. I would wait for the price to fall further, and only when it falls, I might buy. The reason is only 13% of the tokens are in circulation, and a lot more is going to be added in future.

Having said that, the project – Maverick Protocol is a good one. Atleast this is what the onchain data suggest. With current TVL is 44.9M USD, Maverick Protocol could generate an annual fee of more than 18.4M USD.
