Bored Apes to Feature in ‘The Degen Trilogy’ Movie Introduced by Coinbase
Bored Ape Yacht Club is everywhere – people are walking around in BAYC jumpers, a Bored Ape-themed restaurant recently opened in the U.S, and ApeCoin, along with its DAO, has been immensely popular. Now, the famous NFT project is coming to the big screen.
While Coinbase temporarily ditched its initially announced plans to launch an NFT marketplace half a year ago, the U.S.’s largest cryptocurrency exchange has decided to join forces with BAYC to create an interactive, three-part movie called the ‘Degen Trilogy.’
Bored Ape NFT holders can connect their wallets to cast their apes for the film. To do so, users have to connect to the Coinbase wallet, and the NFT owners whose Bored Apes are chosen to participate in the movie will receive $10,000 worth of compensation in Bitcoin or ApeCoin.
More details should soon become available on the project’s web page: degentrilogy.com.
“We are dedicated to creating and supporting content projects that speak directly to our community and sustaining the culture of web3 innovation,”
said William Swann, Coinbase’s director of entertainment and culture marketing.
“As we aim to bring the next billion people into the crypto economy, we firmly believe that this interactive film series will act as a catalyst to serve that mission and help audiences understand the collaborative nature of Web 3.0.”

On The Flipside
- Transferring NFTs into a crypto exchange platform wallet could be compromising their security.
- Some say that users who want to lend their bored ape to the project would need to give up the intellectual property rights of the NFTs.
