Ergo Invites Developer Teams for ERGOHACK II
The Ergo ecosystem hosted a hackathon last June where developers proposed new tools and Dapps. Several ideas were presented, including data notarization tools and NIPoPoWs (Non-Interactive Proofs of Proof of Work).
A non-custodial pseudo-ETF platform was proposed to allow users to pool their money in an investment portfolio on top of the Ergo blockchain. Other participating teams presented concepts for tokenization, multi-signature systems, and stealth address pools.
The Ergo Platform aims to build a censorship-proof, robust, open, and user-friendly network. Ergo’s motive is to create a monetary system that empowers regular people, especially the financially disadvantaged.
The co-founders of Ergo, Alexander Chepurnoy and Dmitry Meshkov, are both IOHK alumni with numerous years of experience developing blockchain technology as well as numerous research papers to their names. They have worked on NXT, Scorex and Waves, to name a few. Chepurnoy was also the co-founder of smartcontract.com – now known as Chainlink.

Ergo hackathon organizers plan to hold another hackathon (ERGOHACK II) later this year. The event will hold panel discussions on the theme of social transformation with the aim to develop new tools and Dapps for the Ergo ecosystem.
Winners in several categories will share prize money of about $9k SigUSD (Ergo’s crypto-backed algorithmic stablecoin). Exceptional performers may be asked to join the team following a job interview. In addition to the prize pool, participants will have access to Ergo’s core developers for the purpose of improving their coding skills in a masterclass setting. Ergo experts will be there every step of the way to help educate and workshop ideas.
