GameStop Is Close To Partnering With Two Crypto Companies; Loopring Moons

GameStop announced for the second time that it’s getting into NFTs, but this time they told the Wall Street Journal so everyone cares. But hey, Loopring holders aren’t complaining.

*This is a developing story. Check back for updates.

GameStop announced back in October that it’s working on an NFT marketplace. Today, Wall Street announced the same thing. Funny enough, there is actual fresh news in the report as well…

  • “GameStop also is close to signing partnerships with two crypto companies to share technology and co-invest in the development of games that use blockchain and NFT technology…” the Wall Street Journal reported. Talk about burying the lede.
  • The report also detailed how the video game retailer “expects to enter into similar agreements with a dozen or more crypto companies and invest tens of millions of dollars in them this year.”
  • GameStop is up almost 30% in after hours trading as of press time. It’s currently trading in the $169 range after closing at $131.
  • Speculation over who those two companies led to Loopring mooning. It’s not totally unreasonable because of the Loopring Github commits leaked back in November. Though, those were never officially confirmed.
  • Loopring (ticker symbol: LRC) jumped from the $1.75 USD range to $2.03 in less than hour on the WSJ headline.
