In a digital world driven mainly by profit and speculation, Philcoin offers a different perspective. Its an ecosystem built on the principles of giving and community, using blockchain technology to drive social impact.

Leading this movement is Jerry Lopez, Philcoins founder, whose personal journey from humble beginnings to a tech-driven philanthropist represents the heart of the project. With Philcoins unique ecosystem, including PHILApp and their newly launched PhilSocial, Jerry and his team are driving innovation and building a global culture of giving that transcends borders and backgrounds.

In this interview, Jerry opens up about the inspiration behind Philcoin, the transformative power of blockchain in philanthropy, and his hopes for leaving a legacy that will outlast generations.

Jerry, can you share a bit about your journey and what inspired you to combine philanthropy and blockchain through Philcoin?

Ive always believed in the power of people to make a difference, but I kept seeing how hard it was for regular people to have a meaningful impact. The traditional giving system was just too complicated and disconnected. Then I discovered blockchain, this powerful, transparent, and decentralized tech that seemed like it could fix so many of the issues I was seeing. I thought, Why not use this to make giving back more accessible, direct, and peer-to-peer?

But my journey goes deeper than just an idea. I came from a place where I had nothing to give. Growing up, I understood what it meant to struggle and to lack opportunities. Now, having the chance to change the way giving happens isnt just a professional mission; its personal. Its about showing people that no matter where they come from, they can contribute to something bigger than themselves and make a difference. This vision, combined with blockchain, is what brought Philcoin to life, a way to combine the best of technology and the best of humanity to create real, lasting change.

What excites you most about blockchain technologys potential to transform philanthropy and empower individuals?

What really excites me is the way blockchain levels the playing field. It allows anyone, anywhere, to contribute without the barriers weve traditionally had. Blockchain also brings total transparency, you know exactly where your donation is going, and how its being used. Its a game-changer in terms of trust and efficiency. Its not just about giving money. Its about empowering people to get involved and to make an individual difference. Thats what excites me most.

It empowers people to give, making them feel like theyre part of something bigger. This technology gives everyone, no matter their background, the ability to make an impact, which really resonates with me as I think about the legacy I want to leave for my children. I want them to see that their father took what little he had and built something that inspires people to create change in the world.

In your view, what does it mean to leave a lasting legacy in todays world, and how can blockchain technology help individuals and organizations build such legacies?

A lasting legacy today is about creating something that has the potential to change forever the way something has been done for the better. This legacy continues to grow and help others long after youre gone. Blockchain helps with that because its not just a temporary solution. Its permanent, transparent, and self-sustaining. It lets us build systems that will endure and prosper. Systems where your actions today will continue to benefit future generations.

Philcoin has a unique approach to philanthropy. How does its ecosystem empower communities and align with the concept of legacy-building?

Philcoin is all about making giving easy and meaningful. Weve created an ecosystem where anyone can get involved, whether its through donating tokens, sharing resources, creating their causes, or just contributing time. Its an opportunity to be part of something bigger, a culture where giving becomes part of everyday life.

The ecosystem has been built in a way that has something for everyone. The non-custodial wallet helps people develop and manage their sovereign wealth. Then theres the social media app PhilSocial, which rewards users for their time, engagement, and connection. This app, in particular, has been developed to create a peer-to-peer giving movement that combines all the powerful, positive benefits of social media connection, awareness, impact, and transformation with the life-enhancing goals of social impact.

Apart from Philcoin, what other blockchain projects do you admire for their contributions to grassroots empowerment or legacy-building?

There are some incredible projects out there that are doing great work. I admire Giveth for using blockchain to create more transparent and accessible giving platforms. The Giving Block is also doing amazing work by raising awareness of various causes around the world and encouraging users to donate and make a difference.

In addition, traditional organizations, such as the World Food Programme, Red Cross, and World Wildlife Fund, are adopting blockchain technology to aid in their charitable initiatives. These projects understand the importance of moving with the times and adopting technologies that can further develop or enhance their efforts.

Where should readers who want to combine philanthropy and blockchain start, and what steps can they take to ensure their efforts have a lasting impact on future generations?

The best place to start is by understanding blockchain and how it works because the more you know, the more you can harness its potential. Then, find a project or cause youre passionate about and get involved! It could be donating your time, contributing ideas, or even developing your own solution. The key to creating a lasting impact is to think about sustainability. What systems can you put in place to ensure your efforts keep going long after youve moved on to the next project? Blockchain makes that possible; with its transparency and traceability, it helps guarantee that the work youre doing doesnt just disappear.

What do you see as the future of blockchain in philanthropy over the next 510 years, and what role do you hope Philcoin will play in shaping that future?

In the next 510 years, I see blockchain completely reshaping how we think about philanthropy. Its going to be more decentralized, more transparent, and more accessible to everyone. I want Philcoin to be at the forefront of that transformation, leading in terms of tech innovation and creating a culture of giving that transcends borders, religions, and barriers.

What legacy do you personally hope to leave behind through your work with Philcoin?

I hope to leave behind a world where giving is just a natural part of life. I want to create a system where philanthropy isnt only about the organizations, communities, and individuals. If I can help build an ecosystem that makes that more manageable and widespread, Ill feel like Ive left a meaningful legacy.

I hope to inspire people to think of philanthropy not as something reserved for the wealthy but as something everyone can do, whether its time, resources, or even just connection.

For my family and children, I want them to feel proud of being part of something that has changed lives. My legacy isnt just about changing the way giving happens but about showing my family and the world that even someone who started with nothing can create systems of change that last for generations.

What message would you like to share with readers about embracing blockchain and philanthropy?

I want to say: dont wait for permission to make a difference. Blockchain is the tool that can help you create real change, and its available to all of us. Its time to embrace this technology, harness its power, and start building a future where philanthropy is easy, impactful, and accessible to everyone.
