Is Anime 2.0 The Next Big NFT Obsession?

Is Anime 2.0 The Next Big NFT Obsession?

Well, guess what? The NFT space might seem deadly quiet, but it may not be dead. The market floor feels shaky and intensely bearish right now. Despite that, theres a hustle for something fresh, and innovation is brewing.

Projects attempt to pivot and explore new horizons. Or try to synergize with compelling paradigms. How healthy are the top NFT projects? Are their moves sparking interest?

Lets analyze and explore something that popped on the radar in Q1 2024. From launching anime-inspired non-fungible tokens (NFTs) to an NFT domain, the blue-chip brand Azuki has pinned the news of their moves for the new play Anime 2.0 the paradigm to onboard anime to web3.

This article will briefly highlight what Anime2.0 is about and its potential impact in the NFT arena and beyond.

What is Azukis Anime 2.0 Plan?

The goal behind turbocharging Anime2.0 is to decentralize the anime industry by creating an open anime universe. In late March 2024, Azukis Los Angeles-based parent firm Chiru Labs announced the launch of AnimeChain in collaboration with Arbitrum Foundation and Weeb3 Foundation. Azuki founder Zagabond emphasized this as a product that will serve the broader anime fanbase, creating an ecosystem that opens new avenues for both anime creators and fans.

Reportedly, AnimeChain was brought up to onboard anime IP and experiences to web3. Azuki wanted to initiate it with its native products first. Thus, it confirmed taking its three-part anthology series titled Enter The Garden on-chain as the initial step.

On September 13, Chiru Labs created a buzz by announcing the acquisition and launch of the NFT domainanime.com. Currently, users can mint digital stickers (randomly allocated from a pool of 40) by collecting them through three spins as NFTs on a website hosted on the AnimeChain testnet. The community does anticipate more details on how this platform will evolve and open up new narratives.

What seems to be ahead for the community with Anime 2.0?

  • Onboarding weebs (anime-obsessed fans) and explorers from web2 to web3 with AnimeChain wallet as the key
  • Purchasing collectibles or merch with Physical Backed Token (PBT)
  • Incentivizing creators and participants contributions to co-creating the Azuki universe

Ultimately, with these moves, Chiru Labs aims to expand the Azuki Entertainment Division beyond the NFT arena. FYI, the Azuki brand features the following collections or tokens: Azuki [10,000], BEANZ [19,950], Azuki Elementals [16,285], Azuki Elemental Beans [3,646], Physical Backed Token (PBT), and upcoming AnimeCoin.

Anime NFTs wiring in Anime to Web3 might pick the pace and record notable patterns on the map. Besides Azuki, another famed collection called Persona, native to Web3 gaming studio Unagi, announced its upcoming manga collection Shards of Stained Reverie.

Amid these new entertainment-led moves, do you think the fun factor of NFTs is still intact? Are the NFT communities still zealous about things in this space? Do you think there would be a recovery ever possible in this cycle for NFTs? Tweet your reply tagging us (@The_NewsCrypto) on X.
