It’s Official: Kraken now supports Google Pay and Apple Pay
Kraken is currently one of the most important cryptocurrency exchanges in the world. Its web interface and application provide users with a very friendly and easy means to buy, sell, trade, and store cryptocurrencies. Until recently, the exchange allowed several ways to buy crypto on its platform, including credit and debit cards. Now, Kraken has added two more ways for its users to buy crypto from the app – more specifically, Apple Pay and Google Pay.
Kraken is now accepting Google Pay and Apple Pay
A recent post on the Kraken blog announced the addition of two new payment options on the exchange. This is happening at a time when crypto investors are looking for new ways to make their investments, quicker, safer, and of course simpler. The cryptocurrency exchange has announced that it is now adding the option to buy cryptocurrencies with Google Pay and Apple Pay. These are two payment methods that have grown in popularity among users in recent years, as a lot of people have switched from using their credit or debit cards to pay for goods or services to just taking their phones out and using them to make transactions.
Both Apple Pay and Google Pay will automatically connect to the Kraken app on your device. This will facilitate easy access to the payment for crypto, which can be done in seconds in the application. The new payment methods require a minimum purchase of $10 when you want to make a transaction through either one of them. The maximum purchase amount is currently limited to $7,500 for each payment method within a timeframe of 7 days.
These new methods will make it easier for users to purchase cryptocurrencies. And for the new investors who are just starting out their journey in the crypto markets, it’s also a great thing, as they will not have to go through a more complicated process when buying their first cryptos.
“With the addition of Apple Pay and Google Pay, we take yet another step forward making it easier to make crypto part of your daily experience.”, team Kraken said in their announcement on their blog.
Easier ways to buy crypto
Kraken isn’t the only one adding innovative payment methods to its platform. About a month ago, Coinbase announced that it was adding the option to buy crypto on its platform using Apple Pay. Google Pay was later added to the platform as well and now allows users to easily purchase crypto on the exchange.
PayPal, the online payment giant, also launched crypto support for its US customers earlier this year. In August 2021, the payment platform expanded its offer in the UK, allowing users to buy, sell and store cryptocurrencies within the app.
In a move that took everyone by surprise, the UK Post Office also made a dive into cryptocurrencies. As of two weeks ago, users of the Post Office’s EasyID application can now purchase crypto directly from Swarm Markets, a fairly popular German exchange. It really seems like the competition is doing its magic here. With more huge companies diving into the crypto community and making transactions easier for their customers, their competitors need to step up their game and include the same or other innovative ways of further developing their own platforms as well.
