Kaia-Powered Mini Dapps on LINE Messenger Crosses 35 Million Users In One Month

Layer 1 blockchain Kaia announces groundbreaking market penetration in Asia following the launch of Kaia-powered Mini Dapps and Dapp Portal within LINE Messenger.
Over 35 million users have joined the platforms, spending over $2 million in in-app purchases, across crypto-savvy countries such as Japan, Thailand, Taiwan, and Korea.
The LINE Mini Dapp Portal includes high ranking games, stores, health and fitness apps and social metadata platforms.
Kaia DLT Foundation, a company working to expand the Kaia blockchain ecosystem, has announced major milestones on the Kaia-powered Mini Dapps on LINE NEXT Inc., a LINE Messenger subsidiary focused on growing global Web3 businesses. Following the launch of Mini Dapps and Dapp Portal on LINE NEXT last month both powered by the Kaia blockchain the platforms have amassed over 35 million users, most of them from Asia. Moreover, the Dapps on the platform have reached the $2 million milestone on in-app sales, an impressive average revenue per paying user (ARPPU) of USD 39 and a nearly 13% paying user rate (PUR).
With the Asian market contributing to the lions share of the growth, the team believes the milestones will pave the way for further development of consumer-facing Web3 services such as hybrid crypto/fiat digital payment solutions across Asia, which is home to the largest spenders in the global in-app purchases market.
Speaking on the current milestones of the Kia-powered Mini Dapps, Dr. Sam Seo, Chairman of Kaia DLT Foundation, believes the platforms will further enhance the profitability and scalability of Web3 apps across the region.
Our remarkable achievements in just one month since launching Mini Dapps showcases how a blockchain ecosystem can drive profitable growth while enhancing scalability, said Dr. Seo Aiming to deliver the best of Web3 to Asian users, Kaia will continue to evolve by collaborating with exceptional builders and partners worldwide.
A Budding Ecosystem on Mini Dapps and Dapps Portal
Since launching in late January, Mini Dapps has become the home of over 30 Dapps, including Web 3 games, healthcare and wellness apps, prediction apps, and a gamified social metadata platform, among others. The Mini Dapps platform has seen massive adoption rates across Asia, primarily in Japan, Taiwan, Thailand, and Korea. While these Dapps have attracted millions of users within the past month, the most astonishing milestone is the generated in-app sales - reaching $2 million.
These data validate Kaia and LINE NEXTs strategy to cater to Asian consumers, who are the largest contributors to the global in-app purchase (IAP) market, spending 40% more than other regions.
We are seeing explosive growth from all the regions where LINE is prevalent, said Youngsu Ko, CEO of LINE NEXT. "This proves that we are now ready to popularize Web3, and as Dapps are planning to list their tokens, we expect to further expand our user base.
The Dapp Portal on LINE Messenger is also positively impacting the Web3 user growth rates across the Kaia blockchain ecosystem. According to data collected in February, the Kaia chain has adopted over 7.37 million newly created digital wallets, marking a 1,168% increase, with Dapp Portal alone facilitating 3 million new wallets. This has driven the Kaia chain to the top of the EVM blockchain charts, ranking third in terms of active wallet addresses. Monthly transactions on Kaia also rose 124% to 27.38 million, while the number of on-chain active users skyrocketed 252% to 8.1 million.
Kaia Announces Key Focus on Web3 Payments
Kaia is a leading, high-performance blockchain that aims to revolutionize consumer-facing Web3 businesses, with a deep focus on Asia. The platform, built through a merger of the Klaytn and Finschia blockchains that were initially developed by Kakao and LINE, respectively, has grown into Asias largest Web3 ecosystem through the integration with the Kakaotalk and LINE messengers.
Now, the platform is looking to expand its offerings to Web3 payment infrastructure. A joint effort between Kaia and LINE NEXT, the Mini Dapp platform aims to deliver a seamless Web 2.0-like UX and easy Dapp discovery via Dapp Portal. All this will be facilitated via the LINE Messenger app, which boasts nearly 200 million users.
Via the collaboration with LINE, Kaia will integrate crypto/fiat payment options in the Dapp Portal, which will further facilitate hybrid business models that combine the strengths of Web2s established F2P and IAP models with Web3s liquid digital assets. This is expected to offer a unique opportunity for Mini Dapps to build sustainable revenue streams to go beyond token generation events, transaction fees, and volatile token price action.
Notwithstanding, Kaia has plans to enhance its own payments infrastructure, beginning with the launch of a native USD stablecoin on the Kaia network. These improvements will not only streamline builder settlements using $KAIA and stablecoins converted from fiat revenues. This will help facilitate blockchain-based digital payment solutions that are seamlessly integrated with Asias leading messaging superapps.
