Kevin O’Leary Just Revealed The Size Of His Crypto Portfolio
Kevin O’Leary: the once boomer crypto skeptic is now a boomer degen.
During a live appearance on Reddit’s R/Cryptocurrency’s Talk Thursday, Kevin O’Leary revealed crypto is almost a tenth of his entire portfolio. The Shark Tank star once said Bitcoin is, “Not even a single cell amoeba.”
- “At the beginning of the year, I was at 3% weighting; the target was to get 7% by year-end. However, because of the appreciation of so many of the assets I have now, we’re almost at 10% today,” O’Leary told R/Cryptocurrency.
- On the smart contract debate, O’Leary believes Ethereum still has competition, despite its seemingly entrenched position behind Bitcoin in terms of market cap. “There are many other alternatives, whether it be Solana or anything else.”
- Since rebranding to crypto degen, it’s been difficult to keep up with all of Kevin O’Leary’s crypto related-interests. The reality star VC has said he believes Ethereum could topple Bitcoin, sees great opportunity long-term in NFTs, and absolutely just gushes over the future of DeFi.
- Back in October, the entrepreneur/reality star revealed crypto formed a larger portion of his portfolio than good ole fashioned gold.
- It’s been quite the transformation for the man who once called crypto garbage — though he’s not the only one to call crypto that. As late as January, O’Leary was still telling Anthony Pompliano that he’s not invested in Bitcoin.
- Kevin O’Leary is no stranger to losing debates. He once lost one to a 14-year-old.
