Massive Shiba Inu Update: Shibarium Nears 17,700 Smart Contracts
The Shiba Inu ecosystem team has rolled out new updates concerning its Layer 2 blockchain, Shibarium, and its Web3 gaming project, Shiba Eternity. Lucie, the ecosystems marketing lead, took to X (formerly Twitter) to share the latest developments. These updates highlight Shibariums rapid growth and significant advancements in the gaming realm.
According to Lucie, Shibarium is on the verge of a notable milestone, nearing a three-month high in deployed smart contracts. Data from Shibariumscan reveals that 34 contracts were deployed on September 5, approaching the record high of 36 contracts set in July.
This surge follows the launch of the Shiba Inu Developer Portal (ShibDev), which has driven renewed interest among developers. Shibarium now hosts 17,653 smart contracts, underscoring the blockchains growing appeal.
The introduction of ShibDev has provided developers with tools to streamline building on Shibarium, fostering a more robust development ecosystem. This spike in activity hints at increased long-term potential for the blockchain, as developer engagement often correlates with the success of decentralized ecosystems.

Several critical bugs, including issues with the loading screen and player disconnection, have been resolved. Additionally, new leaderboards and reward systems were introduced to enrich the gaming experience, reflecting the teams ongoing commitment to improving the game.
The Web3 version of Shiba Eternity is still in beta, currently accessible to select LEASH stakers and holders of Shiba Inu-related NFTs. Open beta access, allowing the general public to play without restrictions, is expected but remains without an official date.
