Michael Burry told CNBC the other day that he hasn’t actually shorted cryptocurrencies, but rather, is long several coins. This runs counter with his previous tweets, where he appeared to have been shorting Bitcoin.

- Just last week, Michael Burry asked his followers how to short crypto. “Ok, I haven’t done this before, how do you short a cryptocurrency? Do you have to secure a borrow? Is there a short rebate? Can the position be squeezed and called in?” He has since deleted the tweet.
- Burry says he’s “actually on the long side in a couple that I see as ‘better’ cryptocurrencies.” Though, he didn’t specificy exactly what qualifies as a ‘better’ cryptocurrency.
- Based on his previous statements, he’s probably not long SHIB. Though, then again it looked like he was shorting crypto and now he’s not. So who knows.
- In another twist, Burry also told CNBC that crypto is in a speculative bubble. So if you are keeping score at home, he’s long, not short, but think it’s a bubble.
