“Anyone who surfs the Internet without protection is susceptible to this type of threat: you can get infected by opening attachments from unknown senders, downloading music or installing an unknown extension on your browser. This is apparently harmless software, but highly dangerous and that, once installed, can cause irreparable damage to a company” warns PSafe CEO Marco DeMello.

Protection

Virtual attacks, for both businesses and individuals, can be disastrous. With this in mind, PSafe has put together a series of actions that can reduce the risks of digital infection. Check them out below:

  • Always look for official stores;
  • To make sure it's a trustworthy app, always go to “About this app” to check some information;
  • Be wary if the permissions requested by the app do not match the roles it performs;
  • It is essential that companies have a solution against data leaks, such as dfndr enterprise, which identifies if an app is malicious even before installation;
  • Search the official websites, check who is the developer of the apps you will download on your corporate devices, read user reviews and be suspicious if they are insufficient or negative.
