Hulu Seeks Candidates To Break Through Into The Crypto Space
On January 14th, according to a new job posting, the American streaming platform giant Hulu seeks a candidate for help breaking into crypto,NFTs, and the metaverse. The new job posting is targeting “the streamers of tomorrow”.
The company is looking to hire a “Brand Culture Marketing Manager” that will build a team and focus on how the company can break through into spaces outside of traditional streaming (i.e., NFTs, Crypto, and Metaverse).
“The Brand Marketing Manager will be focused on new areas and verticals of opportunity for the Hulu brand that can reach the streamers of the tomorrow and younger audiences that are consuming content in less traditional ways”
Additionally, the job posting indicates that Hulu believes that younger demographics aren’t streaming in “traditional ways”. The company wants to get ahead and make sure they can reach the “streamers of the future” and the job posting emphasizes that. Furthermore, the job posting is looking specifically for someone who is familiar in the space. For candidates, a passion for new tech platforms and experience using Metaverse, Crypto, and NFT platforms is a plus.
Hulu’s scheme to move into the metaverse and crypto space comes off the heels of their parent company Disney, who recently implemented a web3 strategy. Last November, Disney entered the crypto/metaverse world by launching its first NFT collection. Disney’s NFT collection called the “Golden Moments”, featured intellectual property from its Pixar, Marvel, and Star Wars titles and was sold on VeVe. Another recent job posting for Disney Parks is seeking assistance to “lead Disney’s efforts in the NFT space”.
Both Disney and Hulu are in a unique position of being top tier streaming platforms with access to the rights of thousands of classic and trending films. Their entrance to metaverse and NFTs can only be good for the space, and maybe one day you’ll be buying NFTs on your big screen right at home.
