Elon Musk Twitter Deal And Terra

The much-discussed Elon Musk Twitter acquisition is on the rocks thanks to the maybe revelation that a lot of Twitter accounts are fake. If you’ve spent any time on Twitter, you’ve already accepted that as truth, but apparently, Musk had no idea.

After having learned the numbers might not be what they are — though, Twitter disputes that — Musk is having a little buyer’s remorse. Which begs the question — at least for Terra’s community — is Musk going to save Terra?

I mean, Terra certainly could use the saving. As you all have heard by now Terra has fallen mightily thanks to — based on who you ask — bad tokenomics, upper level mismanagement, Wall Street, and Mike Novogratz. As a result, Do Kwon and co. are pushing forward a fork that the humans in the community don’t want. Problem is, governance in Terra isn’t based on one human, one vote, but rather, it’s one token one vote.

Suffice it to say, the pro-Do Kwon proposal has the tokens behind it. This has led to several Terra community proposals asking for Elon Musk to get involved. The idea being if anyone could take down the authoritarian government of Terra, the current hero of crypto — definitely wasn’t back in May of 2021 — Elon Musk could.

Terra Copium Mechanism

Can Musk save Terra? He probably could. Will he? It’s incredibly unlikely.

Sure, Terra’s central metaphor that’s based around the earth’s relationship with the moon fits thematically with Musk’s insistence on getting to Mars, but that’s as far as it goes. Musk is far too busy with just about everything. Not to mention, he already has found the love of his crypto life in Dogecoin. Dogecoin is going to be used for payments — if he ends up still purchasing Twitter. Also, Musk doesn’t appear too interested in smart contracts, either.

Unfortunately, this all just copium on the part of the Terra community — just like blaming Wall Street for what happened. Who can blame the community to go to this length? They put a lot of faith in Do Kwon only to lose all their money and get pushed into a fork they have no interest in. Here’s hoping things work out for the community in the end, but sadly, Musk is walking through that door.

And even if he did, he’d probably find some reason to back out anyway.
