“My dad was right all along,” Spencer Schiff replied to Bitcoin on-chain analyst Dylan LeClair’s Tweet. LeClair was pointing to the horror show that is 57k (USD) Bitcoin. The reply was obviously in jest, seeing as Spencer’s portfolio allocation has long been doxxed.

Spencer, of course, was referring to his gold bug dad Peter Schiff in the reply. The elder Schiff is perhaps best known for his anti-Bitcoin stance rather than his prowess as an investor. Unlike some other Bitcoin zealots, Schiff has stayed strong over the years. Can’t imagine it’s been easy for the 58-year-old, what with all the screenshots of his predictions never disappearing, ironically, not unlike Bitcoin transactions recorded on the blockchain.
Schiff’s son, Spencer, is the classic apple that fell far from the tree. Much to his father’s chagrin, the 19-year-old’s entire portfolio is in Bitcoin. Spencer started buying back in September 2020.
“Whose advice do you want to follow? A 57-year-old experienced investor/business owner who’s been an investment professional for over 30 years or an 18-year-old college freshman who’s never even had a job,” the senior Schiff tweeted at the time.
Six months later, Peter appeared jealous of his son, but not necessarily because Bitcoin hit several all-time highs by March 2021. Apparently, it had more to do with a certain social media CEO following his son.
Bitcoin Price Action
Bitcoin (ticker symbol BTC) has recovered a bit since Spencer Schiff’s tweet. It’s now trading in the 58k USD range, after falling as low as 55,800 this week.
BTC is now up 1.1% in the last 24 hours, and still on track for a strong end to the year.
