Chicken Derby announced the other day via discord that the Private Beta for their racing game will finally launch on November 24th. The Private Beta is only open to 1000 chicken holders. The Beta was previously expected to launch sometime in October.
The blockchain game was developed by Bitlovin, the team behind popular DOS game, Ganja Farmer. Chicken Derby opted to build their NFT-based game on Polygon Network, an Ethereum scaling solution.

The second of the Play-To-Earn Game’s two drops sold out in less than five minutes. All 10,000 chickens are now in circulation, and no more will be released. However, last month The NFT racer announced an airdrop for all of their holders. No update yet on when the airdrop will occur, but if it’s like Uniswap’s, it will come out of nowhere. So it pays to hold on to these chickens.
Slow Down In The Market
After a very hot start, Chicken Derby has cooled off considerably since a very hot September. The floor price for chickens have fallen from their all-time high of 0.07 to 0.045.
Some of that can be attributed to Ethereum’s considerable rise since that time frame. Ethereum was trading below $3,000 USD for most of September, whereas its $4,300 USD as of press time.
Nevertheless, the value of the chickens hasn’t risen with Ethereum. Which is not unexpected considering the delayed Beta. However, the last seven days are sure looking promising for the recently dormant play-to-earn game. Might have something to do with the beta release. Just maybe.
