Money Man Gets Advance From Empire Records
Recently, popular rapper Money Man signed a record deal with Empire Records that made him the first artist to receive his advance in Bitcoin (ticker symbol: BTC). The advance is worth over a million USD in BTC.
Money Man isn’t likely to be the last to take his advance in crypto. Empire Records is now giving the option to all future signees to take their advance in fiat or in BTC.

Money Man’s interest in Bitcoin didn’t start with the new record deal. Reportedly, Money Man was able to get out of his previous recording contract with Cash Money records thanks to profits he made from investing in Bitcoin early.
Not to mention, his latest single “Blockchain” spells out his very serious interest in Web3: “Bought a little Polkadot/bought a little Vechain/bought a little Safemoon/House got a safe room.”

Another rapper Meek Mill, who’s represented by Jay-Z owned Roc Nation, took notice of the deal and is looking for one of his own. “Ima get my next record deal paid in bitcoin behind @moneyman,” Meek Mill said via an Instagram story.
Meek Mill is no stranger to the crypto world either. He’s revealed owning Bitcoin and Dogecoin previously. But apparently, his DOGE investment isn’t doing so hot. The rapper, who headlined at Madison Square Garden just a few weeks ago, bought the memecoin at the beginning of May.
The hip hop world is no stranger to Bitcoin either. Famously, 50 Cent forgot about a stash of Bitcoin he had from letting fans buy an album with BTC back in 2014. Back in 2017 he said the stash was worth $8.5 million USD. No word if 50 Cent continued to HODL after.
But, if he did, said stash is now worth north of $45 million USD.
