VeVe, the company behind Ecomi, announced today that they’ve entered a partnership with the United States Postal Service (USPS). As part of the agreement, Veve will release, the first-ever official USPS digital collectible stamps on the blockchain.

- The release honours the annual Day Of The Dead, which is an “increasingly popular holiday,” according to the USPS.
- CEO of VeVe David Yu said on the partnership: “We are very humbled to work with such a vital institution for this collaboration. We’re thrilled to offer collectors a new, unique way to engage with digital collectibles that celebrate the legacy of both the USPS, a daily crucial service, and Day of the Dead, a holiday that has resonated among countless generations.”
- USPS isn’t exactly known for being tech-forward — I mean, they would greatly benefit from e-mail ceasing to exist — but they are intrigued by the possibilities of the blockchain when it comes to stamp collecting. “We’re excited to be able to make these festive stamps come to life in an entirely new way with the digital collectible drop in partnership with VeVe,” said Michael J. Elston, Secretary of the USPS board of governors.
