Aiming to improve data privacy for all users and allay concerns about privacy worries voiced by several nations, Worldcoin announced additional features on March 22. The new bundle is centered on Personal Custody, which guarantees that the users device will retain the information created on the orb for identification.

Users may now manage the deletion of features at any moment, in contrast to the former way, thanks to this approval. This is a change from the previous system, when consumers could not influence the deletion of such data.
Moreover, as stated in the announcement, this is a significant step towards achieving its goal of a more extensive ID network and securing user private data and architecture. In addition, other apps will be able to use face authentication thanks to the new capability. Also, the ability to confirm ones identification at the moment of capture with the Orb will safeguard high-security applications.
Furthermore, one promising aspect is that a public-private key pair may be generated entirely on a mobile phone. The next step is to transmit the encrypted data to the backend, where more keys are created to perform a second round of encryption. The Orb receives the keys and uses them to generate the Worldcoin verification images.
The Orb takes care of data curation, encryption, and authentication by signing and transmitting packets to the users phone. Then, it deletes them. The end product of this procedure is a set of encrypted data packages that are stored entirely on the users device, as their public key is used to encrypt all data.
