Bitcoin Price Mirrors Global M2 As Crypto Analyst Reveals May Timeline For Blast Off

Bitcoin’s price movement is starting to look positive after a brief stretch of crashes on Sunday and Monday. After breaking down to $74,000 on Monday, bearish momentum looked ready to drag Bitcoins price down further. However, bulls quickly stepped in to defend the dip. Their aggressive buying has pushed the price back up, with Bitcoin now moving towards the $80,000 level again.  This recent crash is interesting because it aligns almost perfectly with a high-telling metric. This metric not only foreshadowed the crash, but it is now pointing to a powerful upward move for the next Bitcoin rally. Analyst Says Global M2 Is A Leading Signal For Bitcoins Next Move Colin, a well-followed crypto analyst on X, recently drew attention to Bitcoins relationship with the global M2 money supply. Taking to social media platform X, the analyst shared a chart showing Bitcoin’s price correlation with the Global M2 Money Supply, although with a 108-day offset. It almost looks like the Global M2 Money Supply is working as a template for Bitcoin’s price action, as the leading cryptocurrency has been tracing this offest almost step by step since August 2024. Related Reading: Bitcoin Vs. Global M2 Money Supply Shows A Big Move Coming, Heres The Target In his latest post, Colin explained that Bitcoin continues to follow Global M2 like glue. The chart he shared overlays Bitcoins candlestick movements with a yellow line representing the M2 supply offset by that duration. The result is a striking correlation that Colin has consistently tracked for over a year.  The chart below highlights what Colin labeled a mini-rally that failed and another crash, which has played out just as M2 had predicted. Now, with Bitcoin starting April with this crash, the M2 indicator suggests that it could very well blast off anytime soon. However, Colin noted that the price could consolidate further or experience minor dips before the anticipated rally. The analyst noted that the leading cryptocurrency is not fully out of the woods. But if lucky, it will be mostly sideways from here until the blastoff shown by the M2, which is not until May. May Blast-Off? BTCs Rally Setup Strengthens Despite Short-Term Crash Colins forecast is based on the idea that Bitcoin could begin a major upward move by early May, which he called a May blast-off. The yellow M2 projection curve on his chart shows a steep climb ahead starting from May 1, indicating the possibility of Bitcoin rallying toward $128,000 if the correlation remains intact. Related Reading: Bitcoin Price Struggles: Crypto Analyst Bucks Back Against Bearish Sentiment, Top Is Not In However, the analyst did not forgo the short-term risks that Bitcoin and the entire crypto market might face in April. These short-term risks are based on policy concerns regarding the Trump tariffs, which have set the investing markets ablaze in the past few days.  The coming weeks will be important for the outcome of this blastoff. Should it hold above the $78,000$80,000 level while maintaining alignment with the Global M2 Money Supply, May could usher in the parabolic move Colin is hinting at. At the time of writing, Bitcoin is trading at $79,255, up by 5.5% in the past 24 hours. Featured image from Unsplash, chart from Tradingview.com

Global M2 Vs. Bitcoin Shows Bullishness As Analyst Sets Blast Off Date, Heres When

A recent analysis comparing Bitcoins price movement and the Global M2 money supply has added another data point to the growing argument for a bullish phase ahead for the cryptocurrency. Colin, a crypto analyst known on social media platform X as The M2 Guy, recently shared an update suggesting that Bitcoin may be on the verge of a significant upward move, and the expected timeline might continue to test the patience of Bitcoin traders. Bitcoins Incoming Rally May Mirror M2s Explosive Growth Colin, a crypto analyst known on X as The M2 Guy, has continued to build his case around the correlation between Bitcoin and macro liquidity trends. His outlook on Bitcoin, which is currently bullish, is based on an offset correlation between the cryptocurrency’s price action on the daily candlestick chart and the global M2 money supply.  Related Reading: Bitcoin Vs. Global M2 Money Supply Shows A Big Move Coming, Heres The Target In a previous analysis, the analyst noted that Bitcoin’s price action on the daily candlestick chart has the best correlations on the 70-day and 107-day offsets. The most recent update from the analyst focuses on the 107-day offset, which he termed the most likely scenario. Analysis of Bitcoin’s 107-day offset with the global M2 money supply shows that Bitcoin is about to go on a blast-off spike. However, this isnt just about a one-day spike. Colin projects the rally could last for two months based on the sharp vertical trend of the global M2 supply. As for the timing, the 107-day offset suggests that the blast-off spike is expected to kick off around April 30 based on a mathematically strong correlation. If the M2 line continues its upward surge, the rally could last even longer. Focus On The Macro, Not Just The Day Although April 30 is a focal point in his projection, Colin cautioned followers not to become overly fixated on the exact date. Dont get caught up in the weeds, he advised. The larger narrative is more important, reflected in the soaring global M2 levels, which should create an environment ripe for Bitcoin and other crypto assets to benefit from increased liquidity.  Related Reading: Bitcoin Long-Term Holder Net Position Turns Green For The First Time In 2025 In terms of a price target, the current trajectory of the global M2 money supply points to a rally above $140,000. However, interesting predictions have suggested that the Bitcoin price has a chance of doubling before the end of 2025. At the time of writing, Bitcoin is trading at $84,310, having spent the last 24 hours trading in a range between $83,700 and $84,300. Based on this analysis of correlation with the global M2 money, bullish Bitcoin investors might need to wait for at least another month before any significant movement.  This delay might pose challenges for short-term traders depending on their positioning and risk tolerance. On the other hand, it gives long-term holders the opportunity to accumulate more bitcoins at the current low price before the predicted rally. Blue Chip NFTs 101: Cool Cats Lands On Its Feet And Does It In Style

Do the Cool Cats still have Blue Chip status? The collection fell on hard times lately, but so has any other NFT project out there. We’re in a bear market, after all. A Hollywood agency manages the Cool Cats project, they had the coolest exhibit in NFT NYC, and collaborated with TIME magazine in a weird NFT drop. Still, the collection’s floor price is down to levels not seen since the project’s conception. Related Reading: Blue Chip NFTs 101 – What’s The Secret Behind CloneX? Built For The Metaverse The Cool Cats started spreading good vibes in July 2021. It’s a PFP collection consisting of 9.999 unique cats assembled from various traits that formed 300K possibilities total. The ecosystem expanded in two major ways lately. They launched their secondary collection, the Cool Pets, and their own token, $MILK. The new coin is the blood of the gamified experience that the collection’s creators have been releasing. pic.twitter.com/GcpXtb5Vt8 — Mike Tyson (@MikeTyson) July 9, 2021 Speaking about those, the core team are: the smart contract programmer Tom Williamson, web developer Rob Mehew, creative director Evan Luza, and illustrator Colin Egan AKA The Cartoonist. The unofficial fifth member of the band is Mike Tyson. The eternal heavyweight champion changed his Twitter profile picture to a Cool Cats and that propelled the collection when it needed it the most.  The Relationship Between Cool Cats And CAA The Cool Cats went Hollywood on March 2021. In a move unprecedented at the time, the creators signed with leading talent agency CAA. In a press release from the time, the partners explained the deal in detail: “Leading entertainment and sports agency Creative Artists Agency (CAA) has signed Cool Cats, producers of the widely known Cool Cats and Cool Pets NFT collections. In collaboration with the gamified NFT company, the agency will identify and create opportunities for Cool Cats characters across an array of areas, including licensing and merchandising, animated content, brand partnerships, live events, publishing, and more.” So, there’s serious money and interests behind the cats. Why are they fading away into the background, then? Is it just an effect of the bear market?  BTC price chart on Bitbay | Source: BTC/USD on TradingView.com Cool Cats ’ got utility First of all, Cool Cats holders get their NFT’s property rights. That means, they can produce commercial projects with their NFT’s images. Cool Cat owners also get access to the project’s Discord server, and priority for all of the exclusive Cool Cats events and mints. Holders can stack their  NFTs and get yield in $MILK. Another benefit is access to Cooltopia, a project they define as “a gamified ecosystem built on interactivity and utility, community rewards and growth, collaboration with brands, and much more.” Another self-definition has Cooltopia as a “place where having a Cool Cats NFT grants you evolving access to games, tokens, community events, collaborations, and more.”  Plus, there’s the Cool Pets side project. A reward to NFT holders and a way for newcomers to enter the ecosystem at a lower price point. The Cool Pets collection has 19,999 units. Every holder got a pet for free. The general public bought the other half. The Cool Pets first come as an egg image, that hatches and reveals the final NFT. The pets are divided into four elements: Fire, Water, Air, and Grass. The $MILK token The $MILK is an ERC20 token on the Ethereum and Polygon blockchains. It’s the oil that greases Cooltopia’s gamified economy. According to the documentation: “$MILK is the key to all sorts of functionality and fun in the Cool Cats ecosystem, from buying Battle or Housing chests to going on quests.”  “$MILK is also how you’ll enhance and evolve your Cool Pets.” This one describes the NFTs staking-like mechanism: “Your Cool Cat is earning $MILK just by being cool (the $MILK claiming clock begins as soon as the contract is deployed), and that $MILK will accumulate over time.” Controversy And Suspicion There’s something strange going on with this project. Recently, the newly-appointed CEO stepped down after just three months. There was never a credible explanation. The collection just tweeted, “Chris Hassett has stepped down as CEO. We thank him and wish him the best moving forward.” Is there something rotten in the Cool Cats headquarters?  Related Reading: Blue Chip NFTs 101: The World Of Women Collection, Including And Conquering And then there’s the price. At its height, in October 2021, the Cool Cats floor price was around 26 ETH. Almost a year later, the floor Cool Cats are trading for 2.9 ETH. That’s not all, the Cool Pets’ floor price is  0.18 ETH. Are those Blue Chip numbers? Even though we’re basically in the middle of a crypto winter, the collection seems to be falling off a cliff…  Will the Cool Cats land on their feet? The People’s Bank of China Blasts Bitcoin And Crypto. Once Again.

The People’s Bank of China Blasts Bitcoin And Crypto. Once Again.

For a minute there, it seemed like the FUD was over. The People’s Bank of China contributes to its country’s crypto-crackdown at the “Financial Knowledge Popularization Month,” People’s Daily Online reports from Beijing. Speaking at an event, Yin Youping, Deputy Director of the Financial Consumer Rights Protection Bureau of the People’s Bank of China, claimed:  “We remind the people once again that virtual currencies such as Bitcoin are not legal tender and have no actual value support.”  Related Reading | “The Death Of China’s Bitcoin Mining Industry,” 7 Takeaways From The Article Furthermore, Yin Youping classified all cryptocurrency-related investments as pure speculation. He advised the public to “consciously stay away” from virtual assets to avoid unnecessary risk, and to “protect their “pocket.” Nothing crazy coming from a fiat-fuelled bureaucrat. Nevertheless, an interesting new piece in China’s crypto-puzzle. Disclaimer: This article used Google-Translated quotes and information. Small inconsistencies are a possibility.  What Else Did The People’s Bank Of China Said? Besides contributing to China’s crypto-crackdown, Yin Youping responded to the “rebound” in cryptocurrency trading in his country. The People’s Bank of China will: Work overtime to “detect overseas exchanges and domestic traders.” Block “trading websites, apps, and corporate channels.” Intensify “policy publicity,” to let everyone in China know the law of the land.  Establish “a normalized working mechanism” and continue to crack down on cryptocurrency transactions.  Maintain “a high-pressure situation.” The People’s Bank of China’s aim is pretty clear. And it seems to be working, Youping claimed that “the popularity of virtual currency trading has dropped significantly.” The Deputy Director also encouraged the general public to report “illegal fund-raising crimes” to the relevant authorities. BTC price chart for 08/27/2021 on Bitstamp | Source: BTC/USD on TradingView.com Does This Offer Insight Into China’s Crypto Strategy? In a thread summarizing the case, Chinese journalist Colin Wu gave us inside information that wasn’t part of the article. “By blocking exchanges and strengthening policy publicity, China’s popularity has dropped significantly.” 3. By blocking exchanges and strengthening policy publicity, China's popularity has dropped significantly4. Crack down on illegal fund-raising activities with virtual currency and blockchain. — Wu Blockchain (@WuBlockchain) August 27, 2021 One of the surprising revelations from Chainalysis’ Global Crypto Adoption report is that P2P trading “declined dramatically” in China. At the time, we naively asked:  Why are Chinese people abandoning P2P trading so radically? Wouldn’t the “government crackdowns on cryptocurrency trading” cause a surge in old P2P trading instead? This “high-pressure situation” that the People’s Bank of China maintains might be the answer to both questions. As we learned, both  “the popularity of virtual currency trading” and “China’s popularity” dropped significantly. China’s cracking down on the general population as much as on their biggest industries. Bloomberg tried to explain their moves by defining the “New China Model” as: If China is abandoning the Silicon Valley model, what will it replace it with? Insiders suggest it will be less founder-driven and more China-centric. Related Reading | China Banned Bitcoin Mining. What Happens To Small Hydropower Stations Now? We finished that article with more questions than answers. From “Why is China dwarfing its biggest industries and players? Is the “China Model” just concerned with scale?” To “Is their crackdown on Big Tech even related to their crackdown on Bitcoin mining?“ And concluded: There’s only one thing we can know for sure: China’s making big coordinated moves when it comes to tech. And they seem to have a plan. Maybe their plan is simpler than we thought. It’s possible that The People’s Bank of China is just going to make it really really hard for the common citizen to access Bitcoin. And, China’ll use propaganda and repetition to keep people in check and scared of the unknown. One of Bitcoin’s prototipical adversarial scenarios. A battle that Bitcoin expected sooner or later.
