Polygon Studios, the gaming and NFT arm of decentralised Ethereum scaling protocol Polygon (MATIC/USD), and Web3 game development platform Epic League have moved to strengthen their collaboration via the gaming series Dark Throne.

Dark Throne is a “hack-and-slash action RPG” game, with NFT support and in-game rewards and exclusively available on Polygon. The title is Epic League’s first game series and its debut on 28 September at 11 am UTC brings together Polygon’s and the Web3 platform’s next-gen gaming technology on a project aiming to bolster adoption of Web3 gaming.
The game’s debut comes after the two firms signed a strategic partnership in August this year.
Growing the Web3 gaming ecosystemAccording to Urvit Goel, the VP of Global Games Business Development at Polygon, the collaboration will help onboard more users onto the Web3 gaming ecosystem. He said in a press release:
“Epic League has the potential to bring new users to Web3 through its gaming ecosystem. The team’s prior experience working with major gaming and entertainment firms bodes well for its future. We’re delighted to bring Epic League into the Polygon ecosystem, and are excited for our customers to be able to play Dark Thrones and future Epic League titles.”
Dark Throne underwent beta testing in June 2022. Its debut came at Web3 CONNECT, a side event at the Asia Crypto Week flagship conference Token2049 being held in Singapore.
Apart from the partnership with Polygon, Epic League also recently welcomed Polygon Ventures, the investment arm of the crypto platform to its roster of backers.
Polygon Ventures’s strategic investment in Epic League adds to names such as Griffin Gaming Partners, Netmarble Company, WEMADE, Neowiz and YGG SEA.

AC Milan has entered a strategic partnership with Solana-based blockchain game platform MonkeyLeague in a deal set to bring web3 football to the beloved game.
The wide-ranging partnership also sees MonkeyLeague become the Rossoneri’s NFT gaming partner, according to details shared via a press release.
As per the announcement, the Italian football giant and the blockchain gaming platform will collaborate on a Web3 esports release, with exclusive Rossoneri-branded NFT features. These will include game assets, wearables, and other unique game initiatives. Particularly, the partners eye the inclusion of new MonkeyPlayers, skins and stadiums in the next MonkeyLeague release on MagicEden.
The first batch is scheduled for auctioning on 6 October.
Bridging Web2 and Web3AC Milan’s partnership with MonkeyLeague extends a growing trend around Web2 and Web3, with increased collaboration between companies across the ecosystems helping to bridge the gap as more people look to reap the benefits of an emerging technological shift.
Already, the Italian soccer giants have made inroads with other partnerships, including with a fan token platform. The latest partnership will see AC Milan sponsor future MonkeyLeague esports tournaments among other collaborations.
Commenting on the news, MonkeyLeague head of marketing and partnerships Oren Langberg said:

The adoption of Bitcoin ((BTC/USD)) in the United Kingdom has gone a notch higher after a sixth-tier English football league club Oxford City Football Club announced that it will start accepting bitcoin payments once the next season starts on August 6.
The announcement was made after Oxford City struct a multi-year partnership with CoinCorner, which is an Isle of Man-based Bitcoin company.
Oxford City fans will be able to buy match day tickets, food, and drinks at Oxford City’s RAW Charging Stadium using bitcoin over the Lightning Network besides the conventional payment methods like cash and credit cards. This makes the club the first National League football club to accept fans to pay for match day tickets using BTC.
In addition, the back of the shirts of Oxford City football players will have a BTC logo.
Oxford City Football Club partnership with CoinCornerFollowing the partnership between Oxford City Football Club and CoinCorner, CoinCorner will be a back-of-shirt sponsor for the football club.
Besides “The Hoops” having a BTC logo at the back of their shirts, CoinCorner also released a limited edition Oxford City FC Bolt Card in commemoration of the development.
CoinCorner will also be the official match sponsor of Oxford City FC’s opening game on August 6.
Commenting about the partnership, CoinCorner CEO, Danny Scott, said:
