Bitcoin White Paper Discovered in Apple’s Modern macOS
- The intention behind creation is still unknown.
- Technologist Andy Baio shared a blog post about the finding on April 5.
There seems to be a hidden copy of Satoshi Nakamoto’s initial white paper outlining the Bitcoin (BTC) network in every current iteration of Apple’s Mac operating system. Technologist Andy Baio disclosed the finding. He shared in a blog entry on April 5 after discovering it while attempting to fix his printer.
According to Baio, a tool dubbed “Virtual Scanner II” utilizes the Bitcoin whitepaper as a sample document. Some users can’t see this device because it’s not loaded by default.
Additionally, Baio noticed that other people had also found the Bitcoin document or secret scanner. A question about it was posted on the Apple Community in 2021, and a strange Treasure Island picture was discovered in the Virtual Scanner II app.
As per reports, It can be established that the mysterious addition of the Bitcoin white paper began with macOS Mojave (10.14.0) and has persisted through Ventura. High Sierra (10.13) and older versions, however, still don’t have it. The reasoning behind the decision by Apple to incorporate the white paper into its operating system is still unclear.
