Well-known market analysts have taken to X to project when the real alt season will begin, citing Bitcoin dominance trends.Despite Bitcoin reaching multiple all-time highs, many prominent altcoins have yet to surpass their previous cycle peaks. This divergence marks a shift from earlier bull markets, where altcoins typically surged alongside Bitcoin. However, analysts are now focusing on Bitcoin dominance levels and the potential for an "Alt season" as the market begins to show new signs of movement.Bitcoin Dominance at Critical ThresholdIt is important to note that Bitcoin dominance tracks Bitcoin's market capitalization as a percentage of the total crypto market cap. Recent charts, such as one from analyst Rekt Capital, highlight a massive resistance level for Bitcoin dominance at around 71%. Historically, when Bitcoin dominance approaches this level, it has faced difficulties surpassing it. If the dominance fails to break past this resistance, the analyst suggests it could potentially lead to the onset of alt season.

For the uninitiated, alt season, or altcoin season, refers to a phase where altcoins outperform Bitcoin, drawing attention from investors and traders.Notably, an ascending trendline drawn from 2023 to 2025 shows that Bitcoin dominance is currently on an uptrend. This trendline suggests that, for now, Bitcoin is gaining market share. RSI Indicator Points to Potential Shift to Alt SeasonFurther supporting the possibility of an alt season is the Relative Strength Index (RSI), a tool used to gauge the relative strength of Bitcoin dominance. An analysis from another market analyst Mister Crypto shows that, in previous cycles, Bitcoin dominance peaked in 2017, 2021, and 2025, marking key turning points in the market. https://twitter.com/misterrcrypto/status/1906385682584781002The RSI readings from these peaks show overbought zones, which have been followed by reversals in the past. As of now, Bitcoin dominance is experiencing rising momentum, but it is approaching an overbought state. This means that the dominance retreat could be followed by a change in dynamics and altcoins overtaking Bitcoin.Cycles and Patterns Suggest RepetitionUsing another detailed view of Bitcoin dominance, "Master of Crypto" also supports the possibility of a potential alt season. His observations highlight the cyclical nature of Bitcoin dominance, with each cycle lasting approximately 1221 days, or roughly 3.34 years.

Note that this period coincides with similar volatilities that were witnessed in 2017 and 2021, when Bitcoin dominance ranged at 70%. According to the chart, in 2025 Bitcoin may trade similar to 2021, with dominance reaching 70% before it drops again.
